That depends on the basket chosen but you can expect anywhere from $25 on up.
How long does it take to make a basket?
That also depends on the basket chosen but I like to allow at least four hours.
Do I need to bring anything to class with me?
Nope! I provide all the tools and supplies. Dress for a mess though – we use water and dyed reed.
Can my children come?
Unless it is a private class, no. Classes are designed for adults to come learn and relax. Consider this a mom’s/dad’s day out. If you want to set something up for children, we can discuss it. For classes the minimum age is 14.
Do you take credit cards?
Yes, I take credit cards through Paypal. I also accept checks or cash.
Will our baskets be stained?
No. Staining techniques will be discussed but you will leave with them unstained.
What are baskets made of?
Baskets are made of reed. Some of the reed may be dyed. There may be cane or sea grass incorporated into the design.
Can a class be set up outside of your shop?
Locally I prefer to teach in my shop. But yes! I do travel almost monthly to teach. Just contact me to discuss details.
How many can attend a class?
The maximum number would be 12 to 14 people.
Where can I purchase your finished baskets?
Very soon my baskets will be available at the Art Farm in Decatur, IL. And of course, my shop! Typically, in September you can also find me at Arts in Central Park in Decatur, IL.
Do you take custom orders for baskets?
Not currently due to time restraints. However, I have many basket weaving friends who do and would gladly put you in contact with them.
Do you sell your patterns?
Yes, I do. Currently they are on Etsy and will be on my website soon. They are PDF downloads. They are for your use only, not to be copied or shared. If you want to teach one of my patterns to a guild or friends, please respect my work and ask permission. This is my chosen career and a lot of time and energy goes into my creations.
